Early fall is prime festival season, and this weekend shows it. Between Friday and Sunday we're tracking 40 food truck festivals, food and drink fests, and fairs with trucks on site across New Jersey and New York. New Jersey carries the bigger slate with 24 events, from West Milford down to Wildwood. New York adds 16, from Staten Island and Long Island up through the Hudson Valley, the Capital Region and Western New York.
Saturday is the big day. Most events run from late morning into the evening, followed by a smaller but strong Sunday lineup. Below you'll find our picks in each state, then the full rundown grouped by type so you can match the drive to the appetite.
Ten food-truck-focused events run statewide, most of them on Saturday, with feasts, food fests and fairs filling in the rest of the map. Sunday belongs to Vineland, Fanwood and Budd Lake.
